Sheryl gets to meet President Clinton (the first) Portsmouth, Ohio - February 25, 2008 Sheryl and I went to see President Clinton campaign for his wife Hillary at Shawnee State University on February 25, 2008. We have both been big fans and supporters of Bill Clinton and Sheryl was has always wanted to meet him. I was very impressed as I had forgotten what an excellent speaker he was and how motivating he can be. If only we could vote him back into office.....but I digress. After his speech was over he, with plenty of secret service men around him, went up to the security fence that surrounded the stage to press the flesh with the crowd. Sheryl, ever the skilled ninja when it comes to working her way through a crowd, quickly made it up to the front line.....but could only get about 3 people back from the fence. As the President was making his way past our area, Sheryl was able to barely touch his hand and then he moved on down the line. Sheryl chose to shout out something and he turned around and came back to her and asked her what she had said. She repeated, "I want America to be one of the good guys again," to which he replied, "We will!" And then he stretched his arm out over the crowd so that he could shake hands with Sheryl. How cool is that? The pink arm in the second picture is Sheryl's arm. The third picture shows the President turning back around to hear what Sheryl is saying to him. You can see that his arm is about to reach forward to shake her hand. And he seems to have a friendship bracelet, of sorts, on his right wrist. BFF, Mr. President.
